Christine & Farawayeyes
by Technicolour and
Farawayeyes
little older but none the wiser
spinning down slippery slopes
wisdom did it come tumbling down
with age as promised
or will it show up in us someday
wounds that ought to be closed
make it harder to move
must we hide ourselves in riddles
we so badly want them solved
should we stop to wonder
what tomorrow holds
what it may bring
dare we bare the scars
ever onwards life propels us
we rarely stop to catch our breath
buried by time and pains of old
was there a secret garden
that once brought us joy
now we cease to feel
but being true to yourself
brings only loneliness
a long time ago
only sometimes
briefly
do we see a child smile
the way the sun plays
on dewy autumn leaves
and remember that once
the world was our playground
it was an adventure
